    Books for Kids Coming Soon!

In 1991, I put on my mom's gigantic winter coat and headed to the town square to get a picture with the mayor. I had written an essay about my first grade teacher because I thought she was pretty awesome. Apparently other people agreed because I won that essay contest! It was cold the night I collected my winnings and posed with the mayor, but I didn't mind. That was the very night I decided that someday, one way or another, I would be a Writer - with a capital W!

Now that I'm all grown up (and wear better-fitting coats), I'm still working on that dream. I have written A LOT since then, so far mostly for grown ups, especially educators (check out the FOR EDUCATORS section). But now I'm writing for kids like the little me in this photo. Kids who want to get lost in stories. Kids who can't help but delight in language. Kids who want to make the world a little better through the power of words. I can't wait to share these stories with you soon!
